HARBITS RAFFELA

When I first found Raffela, she was starved to a rack of bones with a scrawny 6 month old colt at her side & 6 months in foal, at the age of 3 years old. She lived in a herd of 28 horses , & the sire of her colt & unborn foal was her sire Harbits Elite which is now in the greene pastures due to slaughter. My husband had worked wih the guy who ownd the herd & Had told him I wanted a horse & he had set it up to come by to see the horses. I was excited to see them because this was the first time I had ever seen An Arabian horse & I had always dreamed of having one of my own. Well when we arrived It was feeding time & I watched these people feed their horses pig slop & it was the worse sight I had ever seen. The horses were fighting over the feed & the mare Had kept her son back away from the herd. Finally the herd left & I watched the mare as she would let the colt go eat what he could & I just looked at those big brown eyes. & I knew that she was my horse.
I didnt know anything about horses at the time but I had to rescue her & her son Heck I figured that she would be much better off with me & my husband than where she was SO we bought her & took her home. Raffela was basically a wild horse with her colt But we had turned them loose on our pasture of four foot broam . 2 weeks Later I had called the vet & kept the same one that knew the horses. & he said "My gosh what ever you are doing Keep it up This is the Best I had ever seen them Look" I felt proud of myself & my horses. Over the years we had became the best of firends.
Well I did right because the mare has won State Champion in

Western Horsemanship Adult Amature Owner
Native Costume open
& Trail Class Open
She has been To the regionals 4 times but I have Cerebral Palsy & would always get nervous
But At least she has been there done that .
We even done some barrel Racing & she would always win a third
& We went on some trail rides & have even won a color tv & 500 lbs of horse feed.
I was a student of Richard Shrake & I had earned my Apprinticship under Richard.
I have been offered some big Bucks for her from Richard Shrake & I say Nope Money cant buy Love.
& Richard said to me at one of the clinics "Rhonda In all my life I have worked with World Champion horses & World Champion Riders & I had never seen a horse love their owner as much as this mare loves you , Rhonda Whats your secret' ? I smiled & said "LOVE"
